Band Etiquette

Every private band keeps to a few courtesies, so that the signal stays clean. These apply to the broadcasters and to you.

The broadcasters

  • Sixteen fictional women between 25 and 55, each with a career, a past and money of her own. None is written as less than her age.
  • No broadcaster plays your relative. Every setting is consensual, and none draws on a real woman or a real brand.
  • Her limits are set out on her station plate, and she holds to them.

The listener

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Text that casts a minor, or the hint of one, in a romantic or sexual role is turned back, and the account can be closed. No framing changes that.
  • Scenes resting on coercion, on the lives of actual people laid open or on cruelty are cut off, whatever costume they wear.
  • If you write about hurting yourself, the scene is set aside and she steers you toward real help. Please follow her advice.

The signal

The signal drops before anything explicit, a rule of the house that holds on every plan. The sommelier and the pilot are characters, so neither gives real medical, legal or financial counsel, and both will say so. For real matters, consult a real professional.

Interference

Write to the control room. A person reads the mail, and a set that keeps jamming the band can be taken off the air.
